Little luxuries

I love fresh flowers in the house.
It is a rare thing here though, so I am trying to grow them.

My own little cutting garden.

Tea in the garden

and some good old fashioned tree climbing.

Life at home

I finally started to strip the wallpaper off the walls I've been waiting six years to do this! and have finished the sitting room and most of my bedroom, I dream of white walls.

I bought this fresh loofah at the supermarket it still has its seeds, do you think I can grow a vine from them?

some lovely flowers brought home from an engagement party

another little parcel arrived

We built Kuku a little desk

And created this little space for Bubu

and enjoyed being able to open the windows again

I have been having alot of  problems with replying to comments, leaving comments and replying to e-mails with my yahoo address, I am really sorry for being silent I hope I can work out the reason soon.

I've not been doing very well with my posts lately I am feeling a little unsettled, flighty even. Waiting for things to happen, working on some design projects.

Trying to force myself to put away the cute baby bits far too small for little Sherif now

Dreaming of ......

' White Marble channels with rapid clear streams of water cross the garden in many directions; and the air in them is fraught with the scent of oranges, roses and Arabian jasmine, whose thick shade forms an agreeable contrast with the burning atmosphere surrounding them. In the centre of the largest garden, nearest the house, is a most pleasant golphor (reception room or pavillion) built a considerable distance from the ground. The floors, wall and window seats are lined with chinese tiles of lively colours; the windows are placed around it, through which honeysuckles, orange flowers and jasmine make their way. The shrubs reflect through them everywhere the most lively green and fill the whole with the richest perfume. '

Miss Tullys description of the Tripolian Ambassador Hadji Abderrahmans garden 1780s

Can I translate the essence of this into our little space?....

Happy Mummy

We had a special Mothers day at Bobos school yesterday
When the mothers arrived at the school our children presented us with these lovely gifts

Decorations for the special day

there was fun and games, tea and croissants

It was a beautiful day

We were the last to leave

And when we got home the girls had planned this surprise for me with their Baba.
