Life at home

I finally started to strip the wallpaper off the walls I've been waiting six years to do this! and have finished the sitting room and most of my bedroom, I dream of white walls.

I bought this fresh loofah at the supermarket it still has its seeds, do you think I can grow a vine from them?

some lovely flowers brought home from an engagement party

another little parcel arrived

We built Kuku a little desk

And created this little space for Bubu

and enjoyed being able to open the windows again

I have been having alot of  problems with replying to comments, leaving comments and replying to e-mails with my yahoo address, I am really sorry for being silent I hope I can work out the reason soon.

Lamenting time

My beautiful K turned nine today and it makes my heart squeeze.

Watch out for time it creeps by you when you aren't looking.

We love you Kuku x

Ramadan roadtrip - The journey home

We took our time on the journey home, with many pit stops and despite arriving home a whole day late and utterly exhausted we really enjoyed it.
This place had intriqued us on the way to Al-Baha, so on our way back to stopped to take a closer look.
It is a bedouin settlement in the middle of nowhere ( these are the places where women drive in Saudi Arabia ). We loved all its sculptural forms and posing camels.

The storm

The day we left a storm broke I am so glad we didnt miss it, thunder, lightening, mist, rain, hail and the electricity went down. Coming from the heat and humidity of Dammam it made me feel alive. Growing up in England I never ever expected to miss rain but I have so this was balm for my soul.

As the evening drew in everything turned in to a dreamlike world.

A perfect end to our stay.
